Is CAT 6 Harder To Install Than CAT 5e?

In a word: yes. CAT 5e cable is pretty tough stuff. You can yank it around,
lash it into tight bundles, and bend it pretty hard while throwing the
prescribed bend radius to the wind, and it will usually forgive you. (Note
that I would not actually recommend any of these practices. Better to just
do it right.)

With CAT 6 cable this is not the case. If you’re careless with your CAT 6,
you’ll be lucky if it tests out to CAT 5e.

Forget about making neat, tightly cinched bundles when you install CAT 6.
And don’t think of it as pulling wire, think of it as laying wire. Basically
you’re trying to avoid putting any stresses on the cable.

Correctly installed CAT 6 should future-proof your network for years to
come. Keep it loopy, keep it loose, and you’ll be good to go.
