Here Comes The Handycam!

Ever have one of those moments in which everything just comes together? Well I had mine after I bought a DV Sony Handycam. Man, I never understood just how much fun all of this could really be ’til I brought that bad boy home. I must admit that I am still learning to use the software that came with it, though. On the flipside, I seem to be getting a handle on incorporating music along with my work. But it is a lot harder than I initially thought from a timing perspective.
While there is much to ‘oooo and ahhh’ about, the most exciting thing that I am just now discovering is the bounty of Creative Commons music out there that I can use in my creations. True, not all of it is all that hot, but I think that some of the stuff that I found recently is going to do wonders for me.
So, with that in mind, keep your eyes peeled as I do have a couple of video projects in mind coming up here very soon.
Just for example, one of these projects coming up is going to be silly, another will be a possible promo for Gnomedex, and the third with be something silly as well, yet provide an actual benefit to those who choose to watch it. All three of these projects have me pretty excited as they will certainly push my abilities to their limits and undoubtly will prove to be quite entertaining for all involved.
Do you guys/gals out there have any video projects that you would like to share with me? I am willing to bet that if you dig far enough into the depths of your hard drive, you just might be able to dig something up. Until then, rest assured that I will be working hard this weekend on my own movie projects.
Oh, before I forget, I just wanted to share this with you all. Remember my report about how cool it would be to have grocery stores where all the work was done for you? Well, according to Gnomie Tracy, one actually did exist once. Check this out:
About 30 years ago, in Orlando, they had just what you’re describing.
We lived in a small suburb called Pine Hills. They opened a drive-through mini-grocer. You drove through and they had all of the basic things you’d find in a mini-mart.
You’d tell the guy at the beginning and the other employees would grab the stuff and hand it out the window!
I can’t recall how long it lasted? I thought it was a great idea and I suppose the criminal element is probably what did it in…
Isn’t that wild? Now I finally understand why they call it the “good ‘ol days!”
Let’s get digital!
