Small Screen Renderer

Have you ever wondered what your Web site looks like on a cell phone? The Small Screen Renderer extension for Firefox will help your dreams come true. Sure, you could probably just drag your browser to a tiny width and try to guess on the rest. Why do that though when you have an extension that will do the work for you?

Here is what the developer of the extension had to say about it.

Disruptive Innovations is happy to offer you this extension to the Mozilla Application Suite allowing to check if a web site renders well on a cellphone’s screen. This addon installs a new menu entry “Small Screen Rendering” in the View menu. Selecting it toggles on/off the Small Screen Rendering mode.

This does not work with pages using framesets.

For Web page designers that want to see what their work looks like on mobile devices, this extension is a must have. I have thought about picking it up just to see what my Web sites look like, and how I could make them more “mobile friendly” as well.

This might not be the biggest extension of them all, but it does help viewing small screens in a huge way.

This Firefox extension is for versions 1.5 and up of the browser. To pick up your copy all you need to do is download it via the official Web site.

What Do You Think?
